Terms and Conditions of Visits and Booking
1) Short notice requests incur a surcharge of £10.00 , we require at least a months notice for all visits and bookings for long stays.
2) Twice daily visits ( Signature, Extended or Platinum ) are required on full days when clients are away.
We can start visits in the afternoon if clients depart in the morning, and finish in the morning if clients are returning in the afternoon.
3) Signature and Extended packages can be mixed and matched.
4) Both AM and PM visits must be Platinum if selecting that package.
5)Bank Holiday weekends ( including the Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday as relevant) are Double Rate ( apart from Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Years day, which are charged at triple rate.
6) All dogs must have up to date vaccinations including Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus / Infectious Canine Hepatitis, Canine Parvovirus (DHP), Leptospirosis (L2 or L4 and kennel Cough (KC), Parasite ( Fleas and worms) All pets must be currently treated with prescription (POM-V) medication for internal and external parasites ( including roundworm, tapeworm, fleas and lungworm) according to the manufacturers advice. Proof of vaccinations must be provided to Paws and Hooves at home, prior to group walks. Alternative homeopathic treatments are not acceptable.
7) The client accepts that even though their dog is vaccinated against Kennel Cough, there is always a chance that a dog can still contract Kennel Cough by mixing with others on group walks, The client agrees that they will not hold Paws and Hooves at Home responsible if their dog contracts Kennel cough.
8) The client agrees to take necessary measures and precautions to ensure their dog is continuously free of contagious and infectious or otherwise communicable diseases. The client further agrees to notify Paws and Hooves at Home if their dog has been exposed to, or is affected by such diseases and conditions, to include but not limited to Distemper Hepatitis, any respiratory infections, including Kennel Cough, Parvovirus, Corona Virus, Worms, Lyme Disease, Fleas, infectious Skin Diseases internal and external parasites. Paws and Hooves at Home reserves the right to refuse sitting or walking until the condition is resolved.
9) If the customer has a rescue dog, the dog MUST have been resident with the owner for a minimum of six months.
10) Paws and Hooves at Home will only accept entire / non neutered males over the age of 9 months for walks and sitting by prior agreement.
11) A mutually convenient time for drop off collection and sitting of dogs must be agreed between the owner and Paws and Hooves at Home.
12) The owner is responsible for providing enough food for the duration of the pet sitting and care. If insufficient food is left to cover all days that the owners are away and the animal needs care then Paws and Hooves at home will provide food and the client agrees to fully reimburse for the costs incurred in the purchase of more food, for which receipts will be provided.
13) All dogs being walked and cared for by Paws and Hooves at Home must wear a collar with an identity tag showing the name and address of the owner, a telephone number is optional but advisable.
14) If equipment is left for use by Paws and Hooves at Home, then the owner must ensure that it is fit for purpose and suitable.
15) A booking will only be regarded as confirmed when the booking fee is paid and a signed booking form is returned ( which should be no later than 5 days after the initial meeting with your sitter. The owners agree to provide full, accurate and detailed information on the booking form about the animal being cared for.
16) During the owners continued use of Paws and Hooves at Home the owner agrees to keep Paws and Hooves at Home informed of any changes to the animals booking form, Failure on the owners part to disclose and matter which Paws and Hooves at Home view may render the animal unsuitable for sitters to attend or exercise the animal, this will amount to a breach of conditions and termination of the carer staying at the property, this will be without refund.
17) Any conditions requiring administration of medication to your animal must be fully disclosed with Paws and Hooves at Home, Dosage rates etc, should be given in writing before the commencement of the sitting service. Any changes in medication required must be communicated to Paws and Hooves at Home in a timely manner.
18) Paws and Hooves at home will at times provide care in a secure field where dogs will be integrated to play and socialise, this will obviously be strictly vetted and supervised, the client accepts that during the course of normal dog play, their dog may sustain injuries, all dog play is carefully monitored to avoid injury, but scratches, punctures, torn ligaments or other injuries may occur despite even the best supervision.
19) Paws and Hooves at Home will only ever let dogs off the lead once an " Off Lead permission form" has been signed and will remain at the discretion of Paws and Hooves at Home.
20) Paws and Hooves at Home are unable to accept any dogs that show aggression towards other dogs on social walks or towards people when a sitting service is in place are subject to the terms of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. No dogs registered under this act will be accepted for walks or home care / sitting service.
21) If the dog does show aggression or bites another dog during walks or carer during home sitting service then the Emergency Contact will be advised and expected to continue with the home sitting, if this cant take place then the dog will be moved to kennels for remainder of care. There will be no refund on the carer / home sitting fees that have been paid and the owner will be responsible for the kennel fees.
22) Paws and Hooves at Home will make every effort to provide an excellent standard of care for your animals, but will not be held liable for loss, injury or death, unless there is negligence shown, and agrees to indemnify Paws and Hooves at Home in full against any liability arising from such harm or damage to third parties.
23) If your animal escapes from your premises, assuming no negligence is found on the part of Paws and Hooves at Home, any liability for the animals actions remain the responsibility of the owner.
24) The owner or the emergency contact is responsible for the payment of any veterinary fees incurred and the owner is responsible for reimbursing any costs incurred by Paws and Hooves at Home.
25) The owner agrees that if their holiday or trip is delayed and they are late to return home then Paws and Hooves at Home will provide care at the agreed payment rate per night plus the surcharge of £10 per day until their return.
26) If the owner cuts their trip short and collects the animal early or sitting services are no longer required before the agreed end of service date, then they will not be entitled to any refund.
27) Hooves and Paws at Home reserve the right at their discretion to cancel a booking without explanation and refund the fee paid.
28) The booking fee is nonrefundable but is transferable
29) Paws and Hooves at Home will make every effort to contact the owner or Emergency Contact in the event of an emergency, if necessary the Emergency Contact will be expected to make a decision regarding the animal. If the owner or emergency contact cannot be contacted then Paws and Hooves at Home reserve the right to act on the owners behalf. Seeking and following advice from a veterinary surgeon.
30) The client agrees to notify Paws and Hooves at Home immediately of any aggressive or dangerous behaviour of their animal, that has potential to cause harm to another animal or individual. Male entire animals, i.e dogs / horses will be monitored closely for any aggression.
31) The client is fully responsible for the full cost of treatment of any injuries and or illnesses that their animal while under the care of Paws and Hooves at Home, together with any associated costs, e.g call out charges, medication etc. The client authorises Leigh Wilson of Paws and Hooves at Home to seek such veterinary advice and / or treatment as they deem necessary, where possible this will be carried out by the clients usual / preferred vet, but this cannot be guaranteed ( e.g in an emergency situation) and the client accepts that Paws and Hooves at Home may at their discretion use any registered vet. The client agrees to pay all such costs immediately upon their return or by agreement with the proprietor.
32) The client agrees Paws and Hooves at Home is not responsible for any lost or damaged leads, collars and tags or clothing or any other items left with their dog or within the home that the dog may destroy.
33) The client agrees to ensure their dog has not eaten for an hour before pick up by Paws and Hooves at Home, for exercise or play to allow sufficient digestion. Failure to do so may result in the dog being sick during transport and the potentially life threatening condition Bloat ( Gastric Torsion),
34) The client agrees to provide keys / access to the property where the animal is to be cared for, failure to do so will result in cancellation for that days service and will be payable in full by the client.
35) The client agrees that by signing the key holder form, this will indemnify Paws and Hooves at Home in full against any liability arising from loss or damage to the property or its contents, in present and future circumstances.
Paws and Hooves at Home can only walk, take care of and house sit a certain number of animals at any one time, We fully understand that in some cases emergencies will crop up from time to time and Paws and Hooves at Home does not wish to add to the issues surrounding them, however a late cancellation means that a space is available that could have been offered to another animal had more notice been provided. Any cancellations MUST be given in writing / text/ Whats app not less than 48 hours before the exercise or pet sitting is due to commence, this includes Ad Hoc animals as well. Any cancellations after this time will be fully chargeable as we will not have enough time to fill the vacant spot. The only exemption will be medical reasons. To avoid a NO FEE cancellation then 1 weeks notice must be provided and your spot will be offered to someone else.
36) In the winter months you agree to provide your dog with a suitable coat, this will be worn on walks, and used in cold weather when pet sitting for exercise.
